Suffolk County Police  First Precinct officers responded to North Lindenhurst after a 911 report at Sunrise Highway and North Delaware Avenue at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Two 20-year-old Lindenhurst women were walking from the north side of Sunrise Highway to the south side when they were struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound. The driver then fled the scene.

Both victims were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment, one, identified as Colleen Curry, of Lindenhurst, with serious injuries, and the other, Kaitlynn McNamara, also of Lindenhurst, with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
